The Single Helix Cone Mixer is an industrial mixing equipment designed for powders, granules, and solid-liquid materials. Featuring a conical vessel and a single helix structure, it ensures residue-free discharge and is widely used for homogeneous mixing in industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food additives. After materials enter the vessel through the top feed port, the helix shaft, driven by a compound motion of revolution and rotation, creates triple mixing effects: convection, shearing, and diffusion. The material is lifted along the conical wall to the top and then falls back naturally, achieving uniform distribution both circumferentially and axially.

The Single Helix Cone Mixer is primarily composed of the helix systemdrive unit, and main body structure:

  • Helix System: A single helix shaft drives material circulation through the compound motion of rotation (on its own axis) and revolution (around the vessel axis).

  • Drive Unit: The movements from the rotation motor and the revolution motor are adjusted to appropriate speeds via a worm gear system and gears, then transmitted to the helix to achieve both rotational and revolutionary motions.

  • Vessel Cover: The cover supports the entire drive assembly, which is fixed to it. The cover is equipped with a feed port, observation port, cleaning port, and maintenance access.

  • Vessel Body: The conical vessel holds the material, facilitating rapid and complete discharge without accumulation or dead spots.

  • Discharge Valve: Located at the bottom of the vessel to control material retention and discharge. Available in manual, pneumatic, or electric configurations. A liquid discharge valve can be added upon request.

  • Spray System (Optional): Supports solid-liquid mixing processes with uniformly distributed spray nozzles.

The mixer uses a cycloidal reducer to drive the central screw and the outer ribbon helix at the same speed. During operation, the central screw lifts material from the bottom to the top. Simultaneously, the outer ribbon helix, with a higher linear speed, sweeps and lifts material upward along the conical wall. Both motions, under centrifugal force, throw the material tangentially into space, creating intense convection, shearing, and diffusion, thereby achieving rapid and thorough mixing. (The central screw can also be designed for reverse rotation.)

  • No Dead-Spot Mixing: The combination of the conical wall and ribbon helix/scraper design effectively eliminates material残留 (residue) dead spots, enhancing mixing uniformity.

  • Strong Adaptability: The ribbon helix/scraper efficiently handles materials with poor flow or certain viscosity, reducing wall sticking.
